About Me: I'm looking forward to working for Better Start in this new role, my own family is incredibly important to me. Work wise I have had many different roles, most recently the last ten years has been within primary schools which has included teaching assistant, behavioural support and business support officer, dealing with reception, finances and general office duties. I've just graduated with a Family Support & Wellbeing Foundation Degree at Blackpool University, and although returning to study as a mature student I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

About Me: I  have volunteered in my local Children’s Centre since January 2017. Part of my role as a volunteer is planning and delivering of the Dad’s Den stay and play session. I am very keen to use the skills and the experience I have gained in my life for a positive purpose that is why I applied for a Community Connector role. I strongly believe in Better Start and the Children’s Centres. I would like to be a key part of the positive changes to come in early years. I am very excited about engaging with families, working with Better Start and the Children’s Centre on a larger scale.

Following on from the volunteering, I applied to be a Community Connector and I have a special interest in Oral Health & general health and wellbeing of families and children in Blackpool. I have a passion to contribute towards giving every baby in Blackpool the best possible start in life. I want to help support parents to enable their children to receive the early care and nurture they need for healthy development.
