We have been awarded £45m by the Big Lottery Fund for our 10 year project. Our interventions and approach are designed so that they meet the needs of local people and Blackpool will be a place in which families raise happy, healthy children who grow up to take pride in belonging to, and giving back to, the community.
Our community and key players from the third, statutory and private sectors began working together on the bid to the Big Lottery Fund and are united in our shared vision and shared plan for delivering change. All partners are committed to whole systems change, underpinned by financial, structural, cultural and workforce changes.
Details of the five Better Start programmes are available here.
Blackpool’s people are key to Better Start and have been involved since the first opportunity to bid for funds. Our people inform significant areas of our work such as drafting the bid, the services we offer and how these services are evaluated and adapted for Blackpool’s communities.
