 Parents Under Pressure (PuP)

A supportive parenting programme that helps parents with the pressure and stress of looking after a young child whilst managing their drug or alcohol treatment.

What is it?

The programme focuses on the things parents do well to build their confidence, adopting a strengths-based approach. Professionals work with parents to help them understand their child’s development, become more attunded and responsive to their child’s emotions and needs, and improve the way they interact with their child.

The service works alongside other agencies involved with the family, such as drug and alcohol teams, local children’s services, GPs and other local health services.

Who is it for?

Parents in receipt of drug or alcohol treatment.
