Community Consultation - What You Told Us

Better Start - Listening to You!

By Blackpool Better Start

In February 2016, over 200 Blackpool parents and carers took part in Better Start’s first Community Consultation.  Local families told us what they feel is important in early child development. We were overwhelmed by the positive response and by people’s openness and honesty in talking about difficult topics such as domestic violence, neighbourhood safety and managing children’s behaviour.

The aim of the consultation was to gain insight into what is really important to local families in regards to services in Blackpool and we feel that we have achieved this. We hope that the findings can be used to inform future projects and influence work in a positive way.

The Better Start Partnership is committed to taking what we have been told and using the information to help design new services for young children and their families in our town and we have produced a leaflet that brings together a summary of what is important to Blackpool's Families in early child development.

HUGE thank you goes to the families who have taken part in the Community Consultation, and taken the time to share their thoughts and ideas about their community with us!
