The public consultations for the enhanced Early Years Play Area at Claremont Park will soon be underway!
Groundwork will be leading the five month consultation at Claremont Park on behalf of A Better Start so that the new area will be perfect for local toddlers and their families. These consultations are the most recent in our Parks redevelopment programme which will see new play areas for 0-3 year olds across Blackpool. Already more families are getting out and exploring the new and vibrant green spaces as they become available.
The Grand Opening event for the play zone at George Bancroft Park was arranged as a family fun day, complete with a Teddy Bear's Picnic. The event was very well attended and the children made sure to try out all the new equipment and the bouncy castles that were there for the special day. The event was also covered by the Blackpool Gazette (pictured) and you can check out the story in full by clicking here!
The official unveiling of the new Grange Park Children's Centre outdoor areas was enjoyed by local Blackpool families and was officially opened by Councillor Kath Benson and parent volunteer, Gary Cumber. Feedback from children and parents for the new flower pavilion, outdoor seating areas patio doors, a new slide, and sensory garden, was very positive and a very welcome addition to the centre. The centre was also honoured with a visit from Her Royal Highness, The Countess of Wessex GCVO. The Countess, who is a Patron of the NSPCC, was given a tour of the Blackpool Better Start services that are delivered from Grange Park Children’s Centre, and also had a look around the newly developed outdoor play and park area. You can read more about her visit here.
