The first group of Blackpool parents has gained a qualification in the Raising Early Achievement in Literacy Course.   The Making it REAL for Parents qualification is for parents’ roles in literacy development.

Hear what local families have to say!

Better Start has rolled out the project across our town, with the aim of encouraging parents to volunteer to become REAL Champions and pass on their knowledge to others.

The course supports  parents in developing their child’s communication and literacy and helps them understand the impact that sharing stories, songs and rhymes can have on their child’s education and learning, as well as encouraging interaction between parents and children.

Every parent who took part said they noticed a remarkable difference in their children including the positive impact on communication and the development of new literacy skills.
