Central Family Hub

Affectionately known in the community as ‘Tab’, the Central Family Hub offers families and children a range of fun activities, events and support.
  • Talbot & Brunswick Children's Centre Exterior
The Central Family Hub on Gorton Street is a welcoming, one-stop Hub designed to support you and your children from pregnancy up until they start school and beyond. It is completely free to access and provides a safe space to meet other local parents, play with your children, and get professional advice.

Free Play and Early Learning

The hub runs regular, free drop-in play sessions, storytimes, and messy play groups. These activities are excellent for helping your toddlers and toddlers-to-be develop social skills and get ready for nursery or school. We also run special Ready, Steady, School sessions for those starting school in September.

Health and Baby Services

You can attend well-baby clinics to have your baby weighed, meet with health visitors, and access antenatal or postnatal support groups to chat with other new mums and dads.

On-Site Cafe

There is a budget-friendly cafe inside the hub. A stress-free spot to grab breakfast, lunch, or a coffee while your children play.

Parent Support and Advice

If you need help with housing, adult learning courses, or just want someone to talk to about your child’s development or your own mental well-being, staff are on hand to offer confidential guidance and host drop-in support sessions.

Opening Hours

The hub is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm, and Saturday mornings from 9:30am to 1pm, making it easy to visit around nap times or school runs.
